Introduction to 1-800 East West Mortgage Company
1-800 East West Mortgage Company was established in 1988 on the North Shore as a mortgage broker.  In November 2000, the Company was purchased by Commerce Bank (a company in Worcester, MA) and became 1-800 East West Mortgage Company. Due to the great demand for individualized mortgage finance, 1-800 East West Mortgage Company (referred to as Company or 1-800 East West Mortgage Company) expanded into New England’s leading mortgage lender.  Most recently, in 2007, the company moved its entire operations from Peabody, MA to Marlborough, MA, where it continues to do business.  1-800 East West Mortgage Company offers various programs and products to meet the needs of our borrowers.  Providing professional accurate service to our customers is the key to the Company’s success.

Business Objective
Our business objective is building relationships with our clients in order to originate and process mortgages for the borrowers in the purchase or refinance of real estate.  The primary function of the Company is originating mortgage loans, selling mortgage loans to permanent investors and servicing these loans. 

Our Parent Company – Commerce Bank & Trust Company
We began in 1955 with a simple mission: to provide the residents and businesses of Central Massachusetts with a supportive local bank, a bank that would listen to their needs and help the area’s development. And that is exactly what we’ve been doing ever since.

Our ability to carry out this mission increased significantly in 1993. That’s when Mr. David G. Massad—a well-known supporter of the community and successful Worcester businessman—purchased a substantial majority of the Bank’s stock. Since then, Commerce Bank has grown steadily, in order to better serve a broader community. Besides four offices in Worcester, we’re now also located in Holden, Leominster, Marlborough, Milford, Shrewsbury, Webster, West Boylston and Westborough.

The core of our relationship with the general community is our deposit services: Checking accounts and high-yield Savings, Money Market and Time Deposit accounts. A key to our commercial relationships is a full range of Cash Management services.

Naturally, the Bank provides a complete menu of lending services. We offer substantial expertise in Commercial and Commercial Real Estate lending, plus a comprehensive array of Personal and Residential Mortgage lending programs. (Interestingly enough, we’ve also carved out a specialized niche in financing the purchase of small aircraft.)

By the beginning of 2006, The Bank’s Total Assets had grown to approximately $1 billion. (One might say we’ve reached impressive heights.) But the real story is our roots. We remain firmly anchored in Central Massachusetts. The community and the Bank have “grown up” together. And together, we’ll keep growing.

Commerce Bank will never be one of the “Big Banks.” We will never outgrow our dedication to the success of this area, and its people. After all, we are its people. No wonder you’ll often see the friendly face of a Commerce employee who’s rolled up his or her sleeves to provide some “hands-on” help to a local non-profit or social services group. We work for positive change. Plus, we don’t change our name (and who knows what else?) every 6 months to reflect the latest mega-merger.
